To celebrate International Woman's Day #breakthebias 2022, Woman's History Month and Mother's Day. GUAP teamed up with Woman to Woman to showcase not only various works of black and brown creatives but also an intimate and specials moments into the artist's relationships with their mums. During the private view we celebrated our art, the creativity of various BIPOC artists and most importantly our incredible (immigrant) mothers. Of all exhibitions I’ve had the chance to take part in (which I’m immensely grateful for) this was one was special. I had the chance not only showcase my work but to interview my mum about motherhood and how she raised me and my sister - they gave us the space to learn more about each other and understand our differences in they way we are due the environments we grew up in.
