A London based photographer, director and set designer capturing culture and community.

Mathushaa has worked with various commerical clients, however beyond her professionalism, she unfold important narratives that inspire progressive change within various cultural and creative communities to elevate stories of lived experiences and history that draw the viewer into a world of emotions, authenticity and representation. 

 

Authenticity and representation are important to her because of her parents’ upbringing and experiences during the Sri Lankan civil war, which took place from 1983 until now. The history of the war, their own personal suffering and experience led Mathushaa to share many untold stories. Portraying her subjects authentically through recent series' Not Just Brown, Not Just Indian, having showcase this project in various publications, billboards and solo shows.
